SO THERE ARE SOME ITEMS FROM THIS SECTION THAT WE'RE WRAPPING INTO THE OVERALL NEW SPECIAL PERMITTING ORDINANCE. AND SO IT'S JUST REQUIRING SOME DELETIONS OF THE CODE HERE. SO THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE SEEING TODAY. UM, WE'VE COORDINATED WITH FIRE POLICE, UM, EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, PARKS, PLANNING, UM, ALL TO CREATE THIS NEW ORDINANCE. I'M NOT ASSOCIATED ANYMORE. BUT WE, WE ALWAYS DID HAVE A MEETING WITH FIRE AND POLICE AND ALL OF THAT. WILL THAT CUT THAT OUT FOR PEOPLE? AND THAT ONE PERSON IS ALL YOU TALK TO. SO IT, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A PERMITTING SOFTWARE WHERE YOU WOULD JUST PUT ALL THE INFORMATION INTO THAT AND THAT WOULD DISTRIBUTE IT TO EVERYBODY. SO POTENTIALLY ELIMINATING THE NEED FOR SOME OF THE MEETINGS AND HAVING IT TO WHERE EVERYONE VIEWS IT IN ONE SPOT RATHER THAN THE, UM, SEGREGATED AREAS. AND I JUST HAVE ONE OTHER QUESTION. UM, IT, IT TALKS ABOUT HOW, UM, YOU, THE CITY WILL HAVE THE RIGHT, RIGHT TO REVOKE THE PERMIT DURING THINGS LIKE WEATHER. SO THAT TAKES AWAY CANCELING AN EVENT, AN EVENT FROM THE EVENT PEOPLE AND GIVES IT TO THE CITY OR, SO IT'S JUST SIMPLY GIVING THEM THE RIGHT TO DO SO. SO IF, YOU KNOW A HURRICANE'S HITTING AND THE CITY'S SHUTTING DOWN SERVICES, IT GIVES US THAT RIGHT TO DO IT. IT DOESN'T PROHIBIT THE EVENT COORDINATORS FROM CANCELING IT FOR SOME OTHER REASON, BUT DOES IT GIVE THE CITY TO BE ABLE TO TELL THE EVENT Y'ALL CAN'T HOLD IT BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT THE POLICE IN THE RAIN, OR IT WOULD GIVE THE CITY AUTHORITY TO CANCEL AN EVENT FOR SAFETY REASONS? YES, MA'AM. DO THEY ALREADY HAVE THAT AUTHORITY THOUGH, IF IT'S ON CITY PROPERTY? YES, SIR. UM, I GUESS THE, THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM WAS, UM, THE SUNSET BIZARRE ISSUE THAT WAS AT THE PARK AND THEY, THE CITY WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THE REQUIREMENTS AND, YOU KNOW, AND THEN JUST TELL THEM THEY COULDN'T HAVE IT THERE ANYMORE. IS THIS HELPING WITH THAT SITUATION SO PEOPLE WILL JUST ALWAYS KNOW, OR YEAH, [00:10:01] THIS SHOULD PREVENT FUTURE ISSUES, UM, BECAUSE WE CAN GET AHEAD OF THESE THINGS ON THE FRONT END RATHER THAN BEING REACTIVE TO IT. SO WE WOULD HAVE THE APPLICATION APPLIED FOR, WE COULD LOOK AT IT, SEE IF THERE'S ANY ISSUES OR PITFALLS, ADDRESS THOSE BEFORE THE EVENT. UM, SO WE DON'T GET TO A POINT WHERE SOMETHING HAS TO BE CANCELED. AND I JUST, SORRY, JUST ONE THING BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY WE'VE DONE THINGS IN THAT PARK FOR A LOT, A LOT OF DIFFERENT EVENTS. UM, IS THE CITY'S FOCUS CHANGING OF WANTING TO HAVE EVENTS? I'VE HEARD THEY WANNA SPREAD 'EM OUT IN THE PARK. DIFFERENT PARKS NOT TRYING TO USE NO MA'AM. THAT, THAT'S NOT MY UNDERSTANDING. IT'S JUST TO TRY TO MAKE THIS PROCESS A LITTLE EASIER FOR ANYBODY WHO WANTS TO ACTUALLY HOLD AN EVENT. SO THERE'S ONE PLACE THAT THEY NEED TO GO RATHER THAN MULTIPLE PLACES.
