UH, THE, THE SURVEY RESULTS ON THE LEFT WERE CONDUCTED BY THE CITY AS AN OPEN SURVEY ON THEIR WEBSITE. THE SURVEY RESULTS ON THE RIGHT, UM, REPRESENTS 400 HOUSEHOLD RESPONSES AS PART OF A STATISTICALLY VALID SURVEY DURING FOR THE PARKS AND OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN. UH, COINCIDENTALLY, THE TOP CHOICES FOR PARK PROGRAMMING INCLUDE HIKE AND BIKE TRAILS, PRESERVATION OF GREEN SPACE, PICNIC AREAS, AND OUTDOOR FITNESS, UH, STATIONS. SURVEY ON THE RIGHT INCLUDES A DOG PARK, WHICH WE, UM, IDENTIFY, UH, HAVING THE DOG PARK AT THE HOMETOWN HEROES PARK SITE. ADDITIONALLY, ADDITIONAL USES THAT WERE CHOSEN INCLUDE BASEBALL, SOFTBALL FIELDS, AS WELL AS ATHLETIC FIELDS. MOVING ON TO OUR PHASE ONE IMPROVEMENTS. SO THESE ARE THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN OUR CURRENT DESIGN CONTRACT. UH, A LOT OF WHAT YOU'RE SEEING FOR THE PHASE ONE IMPROVEMENTS ARE UPDATES TO THE EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS AT THE PARK. SO, BEGINNING WITH THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE, UH, WE'VE IDENTIFIED THAT THE BRIDGE NEEDS TO, UH, WE NEED TO REPLACE THE TIMBER DECKING AND THE RAILS, PAINT THE BRIDGE AND REPLACE THE CONCRETE APPROACHES. MOVING ON TO LETTER B, THE BASEBALL FIELD UPGRADES ALL INCLUDE REPLACING DUGOUTS, ADDING BULLPENS, REPLACING BLEACHERS, REGRADING THE THE FIELD, ADDING IRRIGATION, ADDING SCREENING, FENCING, UH, REPLACING GATES AND REPLACING THE LIGHTING. AND THEN THE LITTLE XS WITH RED DOTS REPRESENT PROPOSED SECURITY AND PARKING LOT. LIGHTING ARE PHASE TWO ESTIMATED CO, OR SORRY, PHASE ONE ESTIMATED COSTS, UH, ARE ALL LISTED HERE. UM, I WON'T NECESSARILY BORE YOU WITH EVERY LINE ITEM, BUT, UH, THE SUBTOTAL COMES TO $1.4 MILLION. WE'RE INCLUDING OUR CONTINGENCY OF 20% DESIGN SERVICES ALL IN, WE'RE LOOKING AT 2,000,009 $93,435. MOVING FORWARD TO THE PHASE TWO IMPROVEMENTS, SO PHASE TWO, UM, ARE SOME ELEMENTS THAT WE'VE IDENTIFIED BOTH IN THE MASTER PLAN. UH, RIGHT NOW WE'RE TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT WE SHOULD MOVE FROM A MASTER PLAN TO A PHASE TWO. UH, SO GOING THROUGH THESE, STARTING WITH LETTER A. LETTER A REPRESENTS, UH, A RIGID CANOPY TO BE PLACED OVER THE BASKETBALL COURT. THAT'LL GIVE US, UH, SOME MORE FLEXIBILITY IN THAT SPACE TO, UH, POTENTIALLY HAVE OTHER TYPES OF USES. B REPRESENTS AN NFC FITNESS COURT OR ADAPTIVE FITNESS COURT. WE'VE INCLUDED SOME IMAGES ON THE TOP RIGHT FOR THOSE WHO MAY NOT BE FAMILIAR. UH, BASICALLY THE NFC FITNESS COURT IS A GROUP OF DIFFERENT FITNESS STATIONS THAT PEOPLE CAN USE. THE, THE ADAPTIVE FITNESS COURT IS MORE FOR ACCESSIBLE USES. LETTER C REPRESENTS A MULTIPURPOSE SPORTS FIELD FEATURING A 270 FOOT BY 390 FOOT INTERNATIONAL FIELD, WHICH CAN BE BROKEN UP INTO SMALLER FIELDS FOR FLEXIBILITY OF PLAY. D REPRESENTS EXPANDED PARKING LOT. UM, WITH THIS EXPANDED PARKING LOT, WE THINK WE CAN ADD PLUS OR MINUS 69 SPACES. E REPRESENTS A DETENTION POND OF PLUS OR MINUS THREE ACRES. I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT WE HAVE NOT BEEN AUTHORIZED TO NECESSARILY DO A DRAINAGE STUDY, BUT AS WE ADD IMPERVIOUS SPACE, WE'RE GOING TO NEED TO ACCOUNT FOR THAT WITH, WITH DRAINAGE AND DETENTION. F REPRESENTS A PROPOSED RESTROOM AS WE'VE GONE THROUGH THIS STUDY PROCESS. UM, ASIDE FROM PARKING POSSIBLY BEING LACKING, OUR EXISTING RESTROOM FACILITY ONLY FEATURES ONE STALL FOR MEN, ONE STALL FOR FEMALES. AND SO, UH, WE MAY NEED TO EITHER RENOVATE THE EXISTING RESTROOM FACILITY, EXPAND OR ADD ANOTHER RESTROOM. UH, FACILITY G REPRESENTS A PROPOSED GAZEBO, SO AN OPPORTUNITY FOR PICNICKING. OUR PHASE TWO ESTIMATE, YOU CAN SEE THERE'S A EMPTY SPOT FOR THE, UH, RESTROOM BUILDING JUST BASED ON THE UNKNOWNS OF WHETHER WE'D WANT TO RENOVATE, IF THAT'S PRACTICAL. UH, THE, THE RESTROOM IS SERVICED BY THAT SEPTIC SYSTEM, SO WE MAY NEED TO UPGRADE. SO THERE'S A LOT OF UNKNOWNS AT, AT, IN PARTICULAR WITH THE, THE RESTROOM FACILITY. BUT, UM, WE'RE LOOKING AT A SUBTOTAL OF 2.7, UH, MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE OTHER IMPROVEMENTS I JUST DESCRIBED WITH OUR 20% CONTINGENCY DESIGN SERVICES PERMITS AND ALL IN BUDGET OF $3,728,294. CAN WE GO BACK TO SLIDE 12 REAL QUICK? YES, SIR. SO THE ONLY IMPERVIOUS SURFACE THAT'S TRULY BEING ADDED IS THE EXPANDED PARKING, CORRECT? YES, SIR. SO A THREE ACRE DETENTION POND MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIT OF OVERKILL TO OFFSET FOR 70 PARKING SPACES? NO. SO IT'S, IT'S A KIND OF A BOUNCING ACT BETWEEN WHAT WE'RE PROPOSING IN PHASE TWO AND THEN THE OVERALL MASTER PLAN. UM, I I, TO YOUR POINT, YES, UH, THE THREE AND THREE-ISH ACRES OF DETENTION IS FACTORING, UH, AGAIN, AN ESTIMATE FOR THE OVERALL SITE. IS THAT WET BOTTOM OR IS THAT DRY? WE'RE PROPOSING WET BOTTOM. SO THE REASON I BRING THIS UP THOUGH, [00:10:01] EVEN IN PHASE ONE, THERE'S NOT MUCH EXTRA. SO ARE YOU TALKING SOME OTHER MASTER PLAN? YOU'RE INCORPORATING DRAINAGE FROM SOMETHING ELSE OUTSIDE A LOBIT PART. IS IT OKAY IF I GO STRAIGHT TO THE MASTER PLAN AND SHOW YOU AND THEN WE CAN COME BACK TO THIS? SURE. OKAY. UH, SO JUST REAL QUICK, THESE ARE THE PHASE ONE AND PHASE TWO IMPROVEMENTS TOGETHER. UM, THE PHASE ONE IMPROVEMENTS BEING IN, UH, HIGHLIGHTED IN RED PHASE TWO IN BLUE, WE DID A QUICK PARKING ANALYSIS AND BASED ON THE CITY'S CODE FOR THE PHASE ONE IMPROVEMENTS, UH, WE NEED APPROXIMATELY A TOTAL OF 124 PARKING SPACES. OUR EXISTING PARKING SPACES THAT ARE PAVED OUR 66. SO WITH OUR PROPOSED AND OUR, UH, EXISTING, WE SHOULD BE UP TO AT 1 31 TOTAL PARKING SPACES. SO FOR THE OVERALL MASTER PLAN, YOU CAN SEE THAT WE'RE FACTORING, UH, ADDITIONAL HIKING TRAILS, UH, SOME ADDITIONAL PLAZA PAVILION SPACES, UH, JUST ADDITIONAL, UH, IMPERVIOUS SURFACES. AND SO OUR GOAL AS WE WERE DEFINING AND DEVELOPING THE MASTER PLAN AND PHASE ONE AND PHASE TWO, UH, WAS TO TRY TO ACCOUNT FOR DETENTION FOR THE OVERALL PARK PROJECT. AND THEN SOME FROM THE STANDPOINT THAT IF THE CITY EVER WANTED TO COME BACK TO ADD ADDITIONAL IMPERVIOUS SPACE, YOU, YOU WOULD HAVE CAPACITY. OKAY, HERE'S WHERE I WAS GOING WITH THAT. YES SIR. UP, UH, CLOSER TO 6 46 WHERE THE EXISTING POND IS. NOW THERE'S EXCESS SPACE AROUND IT. WE COULD EXPAND THAT AS DETENTION. AND NOW WHAT YOU HAVE IN THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER THERE WHERE WE JUST HAVE A TRAIL WIND THROUGH A FIELD, IS THERE NOT SPACE A FIT A SECOND SPORTS FIELD? I AM. WHAT? BUT TO YOUR POINT, I, I BELIEVE WE CAN FIT, I MEAN THAT GREEN SPACE IS LITERALLY GRASS, CORRECT? THAT'S, THAT'S NOT SOMETHING SUPER NICE TO PRESERVE. OH, OH, THE NORTH PART OF THE PROJECT HAS THE EXISTING SPRAY FIELDS. I'M SORRY, I THOUGHT YOU WERE REFERRING TO THAT DETENTION ON THE SOUTH SIDE. NO, I'M TALKING DOWN WHERE LIKE P AND QR, WE COULD PUT A SECOND FIELD. WE, WE CAN FIT ANOTHER FIELD IN THERE. SO WHEN, WHEN PEOPLE ON THESE SURVEYS ARE PUTTING PRESERVATION GREEN SPACE, I THINK WE GET A LITTLE BIT OF MISDIRECTION OF WHAT THEY'RE AFTER. UM, THESE SURVEYS GO OUT TO EVERYONE. THESE AREN'T A SURVEY OF FOLKS WHO ARE USING PARKS. SO WHEN THEY CHOOSE PRESERVATION OF GREEN SPACE, A LOT OF TIMES THAT'S FROM A, THIS IS GOOD FOR DRAINAGE AND I DON'T WANNA PAY FOR SOMETHING, I'M NOT GONNA USE PERSPECTIVE. SO WHEN WE PUT OUT A SURVEY ASKING WHAT YOU WANT IN A PARK AND THEY SAY PRESERVATION GREEN SPACE, THAT'S OFTEN WHY THEY PICK THAT BECAUSE I DON'T WANNA PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT I'M NOT USING. AND I KNOW THAT NOT PUTTING CONCRETE IN IS THE BEST THING I CAN DO FOR DRAINAGE FROM THAT PERSPECTIVE, OUTSIDE OF THE EXPENSE OF GRADING THE FIELD AND MAYBE IRRIGATING IT, UM, A SECOND MULTI-USE SPORTS FIELD, UM, IS NO DIFFERENT FROM A DRAINAGE PERSPECTIVE THAN JUST GREEN SPACE.
